We are seeking a high-performing Area Sales Manager based in the Northern CA area. The candidate should possess significant ambition, strong leadership qualities, and a desire to join a winning team.
The ideal candidate will visit key accounts in their assigned territory and work with local distributors and distributor sales reps to achieve sales objectives. The position requires a self- motivated, organized, energetic, and creative person with some sales experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Execute successful and impactful planning, review, sales meetings and annual market plans with distributors
Effectively manage wholesaler to attain new business while maintaining proper ordering procedures
Sell our brand to retailers in coordination with local distributors and brokers
Call on, and provide high-level service support to, retail and on-premise accounts.
Call on key accounts on an ongoing basis to review in-store priorities
Enhance the business by gaining new points of distribution and expanding current SKU mix.
Work with distributor management and sales to achieve goals.
Educate account managers and distributor personnel on proper and effective merchandising:
Proper shelf management positions
Rack, equipment, and POS placements
Conduct beer tastings and beer dinners for consumers/trade.
- Plan time and activities to ensure achievement of volume, new distribution, promotions and merchandising objectives for key accounts by: Ensuring target accounts are contacted and serviced as needed and in compliance with frequency standards set by management.
3 – 5 years beer industry experience
Sales and negotiating skills
Proven success in sales call strategies
Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
Creative presentation/public speaking and premium selling skills are a must
Innovative and creativity in approaching accounts and expanding business
Ability to formulate account strategies and execute against them
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Professional demeanor in working with coworkers, distributors, retail reps and consumers
Must have valid driver's license and own vehicle to travel and transport promotional merchandise between accounts within assigned territory
- Must be able to use basic features in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
